Kitsap Home Builders
Foundation
The Kitsap Home Builders Foundation is
organized for educational and charitable purposes, within the meaning of
Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Tthe Kitsap Home Builders
Foundation is organized to support the educational and charitable activities of
the Home Builders Association of Kitsap County.
Activities of the Foundation
Support of Habitat for Humanity
with the Surplus Building Materials Sale held during the annual Peninsula Home
& Garden Expo held in March.
BUILT GREEN Program Education.
Providng education and support for the environmentally friendly building and
development program.
Scholarship Program in cooperation
with the Building Industry Association of Washington. Two $500 scholarships are
awarded each year to students working toward a degree in a construction related
field. Recepients also compete for two $2,000 scholarships awarded by the BIAW.

Build A Better Christmas -
Assisting familes with Christmas in cooperation with the Alive Shelter.
Bike & Rod Rally -A summer
bike & rod run around Hood Canal, with proceeds benefiting Hang on
Kitsap, a Leadership Kitsap started project that provides hand rails for
elderly citizens.
Current Projects:
Kitsap Low Impact
Development (LID)- LID is a storm-water management and land development
strategy applied at the parcel and subdivision scale that emphasizes
conservation and use of on-site natural features integrated with engineered,
small-scale hydrologic controls to more closely mimic predevelopment hydrologic
functions. The foundation is working with our cities, county and other
stakeholders to develop a Kitsap LID Guide for implementation during 2009
Home Builders Association
Office Site LID Retrofit. The Kitsap Home Builders Foundation has received
a PIE grant from the Puget Sound Action Team to retrofit the HBA Office
building site with low impact development techniques.
