- Although most of the HBA building was insulated when it was built, over time, the insulation had settled or been disturbed.
An infrared, or IR, camera (left) helped identify problem areas by showing warm areas in red and cold areas in blue.
- The attic was filled evenly with additional blown-in insulation which gave it an R-value of 40, which is more than required by the current energy code.
New fiberglass batt insulation was added to the attic walls. See the videos below to see the difference.
- A final IR inspection revealed significant improvement.
HBA staff have also found their workspaces to be more comfortable.
